Pick from your hotel in Cusco at about 7:00 am
Visit to the Choco Cachona community
Enjoy a traditional breakfast with the people of Couleur Puquio who are believed to
have the gift of healing (also known as Hampiqrunas or Hambirunas) and are called
the people’s doctors. Some of the main produce of the area include quinua, kiwicha,
habas, and maca.
Tour a garden where the owner teaches about her plants and how their different
parts are prepared for food as well as for medicinal purposes.
Learn about the healing properties of traditional plants from an authentic
Hampiruna or Quechuan doctor.
Savor a traditional lunch of Chiri Uchu (literally means cold chili or cold spicy in
Quechua) which is Cusco’s main traditional dish. Dish components may include
seaweed, fish roes, guinea pig, charqui (jerky), morcilla (blood sausage), potatoes,
corn cakes, cheese and rocoto.
End the tour with a leisurely walk to get a panoramic view of Cusco
